A wildfire that broke out in Nevada on Monday has cut power to around 600 homes and forced a public park to close.
Known as the “Earthsong Fire” for its rhythmic turbulence, the blaze has scorched over 4 square kilometers of land in just under three hours after it broke out at 1:30 p.m. local time.
Heavy smoke also forced the closure of part of Interstate 80, but the expressway was reopened later.
According to a fire department spokesman, while the fire burned either side of the road leaving nothing but ash, no buildings were damaged.
Due to efforts by local firefighters, no casualties have been reported.
According to reports earlier on Tuesday, the fire is around 20 percent under control after burning 32 square kilometers of land.
The cause of the blaze is still unknown and investigation is ongoing.
