Last year Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech in the Davos forum that still lingers one year on, calling for world unity and cooperation.
US President Donald Trump for this year made his debut at Davos, an event he never got a chance to participate in when he was a businessman.
The contrast of the two cannot be more obvious and has triggered a hot discussion.
On the sidelines of the forum, CGTN reporter Tian Wei spoke with Karin Keller-Sutter, the president of the Swiss Senate, who praised China’s role in the forum and world affairs from the perspective of the host’s country.
She said China and Switzerland have a very good trading relationship.
“Switzerland is very proud to have hosted President Xi Jinping last year. We are privileged to be the only country within the European Union to have a free trade relationship with China.”
“We are very happy about it because China is our most important trading partner in Asia.”
