Chinese PLA to take on flag raising ceremony in 2018

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) will take on the mission of guarding China's national flag and conducting the gun salute starting Jan. 1, 2018, as authorized by the Communist Party of China Central Committee, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The first flag raising ceremony of 2018 will be conducted by the PLA at Tiananmen Square, Beijing at 7:36 a.m.
