Wang Yi: Consular hotline 12308 will launch an app soon

The consular hotline 12308 will launch an app on smartphones this year - alongside its already functional WeChat version and other information platforms - to offer more convenient consular services for our citizens, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday.
Wang made the remarks at a press conference in Beijing on the sidelines of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress, answering questions on China's foreign policy and external relations.
Wang also noted that the foreign ministry has handled over 70,000 cases of consular assistance and protection in 2017.
