Data from Mongolia's general election commission released on Saturday indicates that former martial arts star and businessman Khaltmaa Battulga has won the presidential run-off election.
The opposition Democratic Party candidate took 50.6 percent of the vote with just over 60 percent of votes counted.
Election officials, however, are still waiting for a final count of overseas votes.
Battulga has said he supports building a vital railway from the huge Tavan Tolgoi coal mine to China and has praised the Belt and Road initiative.
