China recently held inauguration ceremonies for a number of new government bodies, including the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Health Commission, the State Market Regulatory Administration and the
China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.
The move was part of a widespread
restructuring of the State Council, China's central government.

Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng, also member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Ministry of Natural Resources. Vice Premiers Sun Chunlan, Hu Chunhua and Liu He as well as State Councilor Wang Yong were present at the inauguration of other entities.
China unveiled a drastic reform plan last month to make the government better-structured, more efficient and service-oriented. All new bodies of the State Council – a total of 16 – are scheduled to be inaugurated by mid-April.
