At least 19 people died and dozens more remain missing after a ship carrying about 70 people sank in northern Brazil on Tuesday, Xinhua has reported citing local authorities.
The ship sank on Tuesday night in Xingu river in northern Para state in the Amazon region, according to the public security office of the state.
Nineteen bodies have been recovered, 25 people have reached the shore and about 30 people are still missing, according to an updated toll.
The cause of the sinking remains unknown.
