Israel and the UN refugee agency have reached an agreement to send some 16-thousand African asylum seekers in Israel to Canada, Italy and Germany. A statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the deal replaces an Israeli plan to deport the refugees to Rwanda. In February, Israel gave 20-thousand African refugees two months to accept a plane ticket and money to leave the country or risk being thrown in jail.
