The Communist Party of China (CPC) has been progressing and showing the world that "socialism can work," said Carlos Roberto Lupi, president of Brazil's Democratic Labour Party.
The CPC "continues to progress in order to show the world that socialism can work, that it is worth believing in a more fair society, a more fraternal society, a society that distributes wealth," Lupi told CGTN in an interview ahead of the 19th CPC National Congress.
"China now proves to the world that a government focused on people is worth pursuing," he added.

Lupi said the CPC "is constantly updating itself, modernizing, interconnecting with the population."
China has set an example on how modern democracy works: How the country corrects mistakes and strives for a better future through "permanent consultation" and "daily dialogue," he noted.
The 19th CPC National Congress will convene next Wednesday. In a message to the 2,287 delegates, the Brazilian politician said: "Colleagues and comrades, continue to believe in a more fraternal society. That is more just because you are the example to the world: Your battle and your victory is also our victory."
