Earlier CGTN spoke to Peter Getzel, the director of the documentary. He shared his thoughts on the production and the most inspiring moments during his work in China.
PETER GETZEL DIRECTOR, 'VOICES FROM THE FRONTLINE: CHINA'S WAR ON POVERTY' "This is unique. I think this is what I want to tell. And this is what I need to bring out to the rest of the world to realize this is something unprecedented that is happening in China. Nobody in the west knows much about it. The general arching spirit of people I think is embodied with is once given the tools, once given the knowledge and ability, once given the support, they will persevere. I really hope that is the case. It will be a wonderful thing to hold in the years to come. We have a very holistic picture. I don't think we could have achieved any of what we have achieved if it hadn't been this huge collaborative effort and that is true of all films."
"If you could describe the program with one sentence to attract the audience, what would you say?"
PETER GETZEL DIRECTOR, 'VOICES FROM THE FRONTLINE: CHINA'S WAR ON POVERTY' "I would say, come and behold, something probably you don't know much about and it will change the way you view China."
