Ninety students have been diagnosed with tuberculosis in Taojiang County, central China’s Hunan Province, authorities with the provincial health and family planning commission said.
The authorities said as of 8:30 p.m. BJT on Friday, 81 students in the county’s No. 4 middle school of Taojiang were diagnosed with tuberculosis, along with seven other suspected cases at the school, while seven in a vocational school were infected and three others were suspected of having been infected.
The tuberculosis outbreak was reported at the school in August. As of November 17, 29 students had been diagnosed with tuberculosis – which is highly infectious – along with five other suspected cases.
