The Press Center of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) held a welcoming reception at the Media Center Hotel in Beijing on Monday night, with more than 500 journalists from China and abroad attending the event.
Huang Kunming, the executive vice director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee said during the welcoming reception that the Press Center will welcome the Chinese and overseas correspondents with a more open attitude, as well as providing convenience to the journalists' work and life conditions.
He hoped all journalists could fully show the world about the CPC National Congress's grand occasion; comprehensively and accurately diffuse CPC's administrative concepts; objectively reflect the historical changes that China has achieved.
The director of 19th CPC National Congress' Press Center Hu Xiaohan chaired the welcoming reception.
According to the press center's data, the 19th CPC National Congress has drawn wide attention from both international and domestic with 3068 reporters. Among all, journalists from Chinese regions like Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as foreign countries reach to 1818, which increased by 6.7 percent comparing to the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012. Foreign reporters come from 134 different countries, covering all five continents around the world.
The Press Center also announced on Monday that six press conferences and eight group interviews will be held during the upcoming Party Congress at the Media Center Hotel.
Specific information about themes, time and dates and officials' names will be released and registration for some events may be required, pending further notification, according to a notice release by the Press Center.
