A new era in science gets underway in Beijing. The Alliance of International Science Organizations brings together Belt and Road scientists and experts devoted to deepening cooperation for a shared future for mankind. CGTN's Feng Yilei reports.

An alliance promoting cross-border science cooperation debuts in China's capital city. The inaugural event draws hundreds of scientific representatives from over 40 countries and regions along the Belt and Road. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Vice Premier Liu He recognize the contributions of these industry insiders to the construction of the Belt and Road. And expectations are high.

LIU HE CHINESE VICE PREMIER "I sincerely hope the alliance can promote a spirit of science when dealing with common concerns. One that's demand-driven and problem-driven in cooperation and research. I look forward to it steadily growing into an international think tank spawning more young talent."

The alliance has attracted a pool of academies and science institutes. Chinese Academy of Sciences, as the backbone of the alliance, says their priorities include international science programs on climate change, regional disaster reduction, diseases and health. Cooperative efforts in these areas had already started before the founding of the alliance.

FENG YILEI BEIJING "This exhibition is showcasing a series of projects, ranging from biotechnology to energy science, and much more. It's an example of how science and technology cooperation is improving innovation and industrial capacity while empowering regional development."

Participating scientists and institutes are determined to deepen collaboration to respond to modern challenges, and introduce innovation.

For remote sensing, China has started so many program. We can collaborate and increase our manpower. We can implement that data for the sustainable development goal."
