President Putin says boosting the economy will be among his top priorities after his record-breaking re-election win. He spoke at the Kremlin, while thanking his election team.
VLADIMIR PUTIN RUSSIAN PRESIDENT "The main topics will be, first of all, working on internal affairs. First, we need to increase the pace of economic development of the Russian Federation, making it more innovative. This also includes the development of the healthcare, education, and industrial sectors."
The Russian president also met with the other candidates. Putin said major projects to strengthen the country's defenses have already been completed. But, he said Russia does not want a new arms race. He said his country will do everything it can to solve the differences with others, while protecting its national interests.
