Live-Streaming Regulations: China to regulate platforms and content
[]
Ten Chinese live-streaming platforms have closed over illegal content. According to the Ministry of Culture, the live-streaming industry generated 4.8 billion US dollars in revenue last year. The Cyberspace Administration of China has ordered ten live-streaming platforms to close. These platforms were involved in delivering illegal content to teenagers. Topics included drugs, pornography and violence. A few of the anchors were also removed and banned from live-streaming. They openly ordered fans to insult others, showed off wealth, and published porn-related content. Major platforms have been removing up to 37-thousand illegal short videos. More than 5,400 online showrooms have gone offline.
