Makers of car seats for children and babies are seeing their sales rising quickly, thanks to new government traffic safety regulations.
The new Juvenile Protection Law launched at the start of March requires parents to install car safety seats for children under the age of 4.
People are not stingy about buying the seats. Parents have been spending from 1,000 to as much as 5,000 yuan for a baby safety seat. Thanks to the new drive, companies are rolling out more safety-related child seats in all price ranges.
According to CGTN’s Mi Jiayi, some manufacturers say the new regulation has boosted their sales by 30 percent. The characteristics of the market are also changing.
Manufacturers are optimistic about the future growth of the baby seat market as well, now that China is encouraging young parents to have a second child.
