94 people have been killed in the Ghouta area of Damascus following air strikes by the Syrian government and its allies. This is according to one war monitor group, who added that more than 300 others were also injured in the strikes.
Damascus claims that it only targets militants, while Syria's military has yet to comment. Despite Ghouta being one of the de-escalation regions in the country, it remains a stronghold for Syrian rebel groups. The government and rebels previously agreed to a ceasefire in the area, back in January. Meanwhile the UN has said the humanitarian situation of civilians in Ghouta, is out of control.
