South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his US counterpart Donald Trump agreed to put maximum pressure and sanctions on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) in a phone call on Monday, Yonhap News Agency reported, citing Seoul's presidential office.
It comes after the United Nations Security Council unanimously voted to impose new sanctions on Pyongyang.
According to the White House, the two leaders welcomed the new raft of sanctions in their call.
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, speaking on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers meetings in Manila, said Pyongyang must stop missile tests if it wanted to hold talks with Washington.
