Now let's take a closer look at Li Keqiang, who was approved as the Premier of China by NPC deputies earlier this morning.
Li Keqiang was born in July, 1955. He earned a Ph.D. in Economics at Peking University. He is currently the Premier of the State Council.
From 1982 to 1998, he worked mainly with the Communist Youth League of China. He went from the position of secretary of Peking University's committee to the first secretary of the Central Committee Secretariat of the CYL.
He also worked in regional areas as a provincial leader, including Henan and Liaoning, before serving as the vice premier of China in 2008.
Five years later, Li became the Chinese premier in 2013.
