Colombian rebel group hands over last batch of weapons
[]
Colombia's oldest rebel group, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) has begun its final round of disarmament, honoring its obligation under the landmark peace deal they signed with the government in November 2016.
Under the agreement, FARC, which formed in 1964, will end its half-century of conflict with the state and become a political party when it completes the disarmament.
However, difficulties in transporting weapons persist, and FARC failing to deliver the weapons on time could threaten to destabilize the fragile peace process.
