Audible.com, a sub-brand of Amazon, announced on Monday the release of audio content aimed at calming down dogs.
Inspired by a study suggesting that listening to audiobooks reduces stress in dogs, the company teamed with Cesar Millan's Dog Psychology Center to develop the new Audible for Dogs service.

“I’m always looking for ways where people don’t feel guilty, worried, (or) stressed when they leave their dogs alone,” Millan told USA TODAY.
The titles of the audiobooks include masterpieces of fiction such as Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice; Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime: Stories from a South African and content related to dogs like W. Bruce Cameron’s A Dog’s Purpose.
As social animals, dogs feel at ease when hearing human voices and when their owners go to work, they sometimes feel anxious and release their stress by barking or causing damage.
Audible for Dogs may be the solution to this problem. Research done by Millan's center found that 76 out of 100 dogs became calm and peaceful after listening to the audio books for four weeks.
“Dogs are social animals, so they need to engage with someone,” said Millan and with Audible, “people can feel that the dog has company.”
