Fans of Chinese basketball were eager to see Beijing Ducks face off against the Jiangsu Dragons on their home turf in the capital’s Wukesong Sports Center on Christmas Eve.
The stakes were high as the Ducks had hoped to avoid consecutive home losses for the first time this season, while the Dragons aimed to keep their straight wins.
The game featured Marshon Brooks, a player who has consistently ranked among the Chinese Basketball Association’s (CBA) League's top scorers in the last three seasons. Brooks joined the Dragons after spells in the NBA and EuroLeague, but it seems that the latest move is paying off, as the team that used to be one of China’s worst is now among its top performers.
As Brooks himself has said, everything is okay so far, and they continue to get better.

Jiangsu now ranks among the CBA League's best, with six different players scoring in double figures in Sunday's match, but it's Brooks who stole the show, netting a game-high of 39 points.
The Ducks were neck in neck with its opposing team, with the Dragons coming out with a 124-122 victory that doubled as an early Christmas present of sorts for their offensive standard bearer.
