Police detain 34 ISIL suspects during raids in Turkey

At least 34 foreign nationals were taken into custody on Sunday during counterterrorism operations carried out by Istanbul police in six districts of the city.

The suspects are alleged to be linked with ISIL and were planning to carry out attacks, according to Turkey’s Daily Sabah, who also noted that digital material and documents linked to the group were also seized in the raids.

Deportation proceedings have been initiated against all of the detainees.
