Numerous candles were displayed on the ground, showing words including “300000, Nanjing, 12.13, 80 years” to mourn the victims and commemorate the Nanjing Massacre, in which more than 300,000 Chinese were brutally murdered by the Japanese army in Nanjing six weeks after the city's fall on December 13, 1937.
