China’s National People's Congress, the country’s highest legislative authority, adopted a landmark amendment to the country's Constitution on Sunday. It is well-recognized that the amendment is of historic significance as it is designed to ensure the lasting stability, and thereby the increasing prosperity, of both the Party and the country. However, some are concerned about the provision to remove term limits for the country’s president and vice president.
