China's Ministry of Commerce weighed in on the expectations of the summit and meeting between Presidents Xi and Trump.
A spokesman said Beijing wants to work with other countries to strengthen trade and investment, keep markets open, and explore new areas for growth. He added China will continue to implement the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, support free global trade. During the two-day summit, Presidents Xi and Trump are expected to discuss the China-US trade spat.
