EU Leaders' Summit: Future budget, next European Commission president in focus

European Union leaders meet in Brussels on Friday for an informal summit to discuss the future post-Brexit budget and other issues. On budget, Dutch Prime minister Mark Rutte says the EU need to modernise in cohesion policy, agricultural funds and regional funds.
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz expressed the hope that the EU make more budget available for big, important tasks such as security policy. Kurz is tough on migration issue and disprove endlessly discussion of redistribution within Europe. Talking about Brexit, Dutch Prime minister said there will be certain obligations if UK wants membership of the bloc's market. On next European Commission president, Lithuania President said that any decision on the candidates for the European positions need to reflect the outcome of the European elections. She added those are foreseen for May 2019, not before.
