From robotics and 5G, to high-end manufacturing, the Shanghai import expo had them all. Well known for its high-tech products, Japan helped transplant visitors into the future. Cui Hui'ao stopped by several Japanese booths and to share their latest and greatest gadgets.
A robot with the ability to dance! Mitsubishi's robot dancer added some technological levity to this first CIIE. It's performing a traditional Japanese fan dance.

But we want to combine robots with art and make them do something softer. The programming behind it is rather complicated because it is tasked to imitate every designed dance move."
Apart from robotics, another highlight of the gala is 5G. Japanese glass manufacturer AGC sported the world's first 5G communication with a fast-moving vehicle. And, the antennas are not visible from the exterior.

With leading technology in chemicals and high tech material, the company is well on its way to tapping into the Chinese market.
Sentiments shared by another Japanese firm, electronics giant Panasonic. It's bringing what it calls a "cyber and physical solution" in a smart factory.
