Trade tensions keep deepening between China and the United States. Beijing is urging Washington to stop its damaging words and actions. The Foreign Ministry again emphasized China doesn't want a trade war, but isn't afraid of one, either.
GENG SHUANG SPOKESPERSON, CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY "Recently, the United States has provoked a trade war, despite a consensus reached by the two sides, damaging the interests of all parties. China does not want to fight a trade war with the United States, but is not afraid to do so. China will continue to take effective measures to safeguard the interests of the country and its people and defend economic globalization and the multilateral trading system. China advises the United States to be rational, and stop actions that harm others and itself."
