To South Africa -- where mystery still shrouds the disappearance of a British couple, who police believe may have been kidnapped. The elderly couple were on holiday in the Eastern Kwazulu Natal region, reportedly to collect indigenous plants and seeds. Some believe their disappearance could be terror-related. Here's CGTN's Travers Andrews with the latest.
TRAVERS ANDREWS CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA The missing elderly couple are said to hold both U.K. and South African dual citizenship and they also reside right here in Cape Town. Now they were reportedly taken in the town of Vryheid in Kwazulu Natal, in what is thought to be an possible ISIL related kidnapping. Police have confirmed their disappearance but have thrown caution to this claim that it may be due to ISIL involvement, some security experts also agree. Now the names of the couple are yet to be released and they are still missing but their vehicle has been found in the northern part of the city of Durban. Two suspects have been taken in for question and the U.K. Foreign office has issued a terror alert to its citizens, which their South African counterparts are disputing. For now the case remains under investigation. Travers Andrews, CGTN, Cape Town.
