The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Friday that the resumption of free trade discussions between China and Norway would help enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
"China and Norway have this week held talks on a bilateral free trade agreement in Beijing," spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a press conference.
"Resuming the talks is an important measure of implementing the consensus of the two countries' leaders, and will provide benefits in enhancing economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. We hope these talks will see bilateral relations take a step forward,” she said.
Norway’s Industry Ministry said on Thursday that China and Norway had resumed free trade talks after initial negotiations were suspended in 2010.
A new round of talks started on Monday and concluded on Wednesday.
