UEFA Champions League: Draw for semi-finals to be held tonight

We stay in Europe and turn to the Champions League as the draw for the semi-finals will be held later tonight in Nyon, Switzerland. The last four consist of two time defending champs Real Madrid, Liverpool, Roma and Bayern Munich, and each side will be very eager to see who they face next.

In the only all-English tie of the round, Liverpool held firm to dump Manchester City out of the tournament with a 2-1 second-leg win at the Etihad, progressing 5-1 on aggregate.

Roma pulled off a sensational comeback to overturn a 4-1 first leg scoreline to beat Barcelona 3-0 and book their place in the last four.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a controversial last-gasp penalty to send Real through to the semis after Juventus had levelled the tie on aggregate with three unanswered goals.

Five-time winners of the competition Bayern held Sevilla to a goalless draw to seal a 2-1 win on aggregate and complete the semi-final line up.

Ronaldo is in the best goalscoring form of his life after netting in 11 consecutive games and will try to help Los Blancos reach the final for the third straight year. The first legs take place on April 24th and 25th with the second legs to take place a week later on May first and second.

The Europa league semi-final draw will also be held today. The four teams remaining are Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Marseille and Salzburg. A draw will also be made to decide which team is the 'home' side in the final. Winning the Europa League is rewarded with a place in the group stage of next season's Champions League.
