Hainan Airlines said Friday it would deploy wide-body aircraft and add 88 flights to ease traffic jams and ferry overflows in south China's island province of Hainan.

Another 5 window tickets in the south and north port will be added as well. Meanwhile, passengers who have bought provincial regular bus tickets can have a full refund. As of 7:30 p.m. Friday, over 12-thousand vehicles remained stuck in traffic jams on the island. Hainan received 5.67 million tourists during the holiday week. Earlier the heaviest fog in a decade descended on Qiongzhou Strait in south China. Local authorities say the Spring Festival travel rush will last until March 10th.
