Brazil's supreme court is to soon rule on whether former president, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, should begin a 12-year prison sentence for corruption.
Thousands have been demonstrating in favor of sending him to jail. Still, he remains the most popular politician in Latin America's biggest nation. Lula was the front-runner in this year's presidential election and is Brazil's first working-class leader. Whether or not he goes to jail, he's barred from running for president due to his conviction for receiving bribes during his presidency.
