China saw the first travel peak of 2017 during the New Year holiday as millions of people were on the move for sightseeing or family reunions. China's railway authorities said nearly 27 million trips by train were made during the three-day holiday that began on Saturday. Meanwhile, civil aviation authorities said over two and a half million trips were made by air.
