Belgium's young snooker player Luca Brecel Wednesday won his first ranking title over former world champion British counterpart Shaun Murphy with a score of 10-5 at China Championship in Guangzhou.
The 22-year-old Belgian ranking 27th in the world came in as the underdog, but had been in great form at the tournament and pulled off comebacks against British Ronnie O' Sullivan and Chinese Li Hang to reach the final.

British Murphy had won four games in seven meetings between the two players – a tiny advantage.
Brecel began the event and potted the red here en route to taking two frames to none lead. But Murphy fought back and recorded the biggest break of the match of 107 to win the fourth frame to trail 3-1.

Brecel stayed on top, but Murphy reduced his deficit to 5-4 by the end of the first session.
After the break, Brecel added two more frames as taking control with this long red in the 11th. Murphy managed to pull another frame back and made it 7-5. But this delicate cut from the Belgian put him on the way to 9-5.
Brecel went on to win 10-5, sinking the pink and bowing to the baize after claiming his first ranking title.
