Hong Kong issues warning as Typhoon Roke makes landfall

China's weather authority has issued a blue alert for the southern coast as Typhoon Roke made landfall in Hong Kong at 9:50 a.m. (0150 GMT) on Sunday.
Neighboring Guangdong Province is expected to experience torrential rains and heavy winds.
All local ferry services in Hong Kong have been suspended while the metro service will run as normal.
Passengers are advised to check the flight status before they leave for the airport, though no mass cancellation of flights was reported.
Two major parks in the city, the Disneyland, and the Ocean Park have been temporarily closed.
The National Meteorological Center (NMC) estimated that Roke would move northwest-wards at 20 kilometers per hour. Its strength is expected to weaken as it moves inland.
The NMC also issued another warning for typhoon No. 8, which is expected to hit Sanya in the southern island of Hainan Monday night.
But there is also a possibility of it breezing past the island en route to northern Vietnam.
Local officials have warned people to take standard precautions against extreme weather.
