One of the AIIB's Vice President's Sir Danny Alexander spoke to us about the strategy behind the bank's investments.
DANNY ALEXANDER VICE PRESIDENT, AIIB "Our investments are really focused thematically. We have priorities around sustainable infrastructure. AIIB was set up just after the Paris Agreement was set up. SO we have a major role in supporting our countries in investing in infrastructure that helps them to meet those commitment. So, for example, hydro-electric power in Nepal, also hydro-electric related investments in Pakistan and Tajikistan. Solar power in Egypt. Bangalore Metro Power Grid transmission strengthening in India and Bangladesh. So we have a big ambition for this to be a green bank. Lean, green and clean are our core values. And that's an important message for our member countries in terms of the types of projects we want to invest in in the future."
MARIAM ZAIDI LUXEMBOURG "So coming here to Luxembourg was a way for the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to reach out to its European members and show them the progress they've made and plans for the future. Mariam Zaidi, CGTN, Luxembourg."
