South Korea's presidential office, the Blue House, has launched a situation room to keep daily track of the preparations for the upcoming summit between President Moon Jae-in and DPRK leader Kim Jong Un.
The launch of the new situation room came at the direct instruction of the president. The situation room consists of officials from the presidential office and other related government offices, including the foreign, national defense and unification ministries. Preparations include protocols for the two leaders and also security measures. Kim Jong Un will be the first DPRK leader to step on South Korean soil since the end of the Korean War in 1953.
