NetEase Music has decided to do some dancing with the Ali Music platform owned by the Alibaba Group. The two music platforms have agreed to share segments of their libraries so that users could enjoy an expanded online catalogue of artists and songs.
The alliance came after Ali music took up with Tencent's QQ music in the copyright sector. Analysts say the move signals that the three online music giants have realized an overall cooperation. More than 520 billion people had enjoyed music online as of last June. Most of that came through smartphone apps used to access the music. Meanwhile, a Cinda Securities report says that China's supervision department will help the platforms complete their cooperation process.
