The Syrian military confirmed on Saturday Israeli strikes on Syria's southern province, according to the state news agency SANA.
The Syrian military said in a statement that Israeli military forces fired several rockets on Qunaitera province, accusing Israel of backing the al-Qaida-linked Fatah al-Sham, formerly known as Nusra Front.
The group has unleashed a wide-scale offensive on military positions in Qunaitera, near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, according to the statement.
The statement said the Syrian forces repelled the attack of the Nusra militants in Qunaitera.

Meanwhile, a Syrian military source told Xinhua that 25 civilians were wounded by the Israeli attack and the shelling of the group.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source said the Syrian army destroyed two heavy machine guns and a tank of the Nusra militants.
The Syrian army has repeatedly accused Israel of backing the rebels in their battles in southern Syria, as the attack on Saturday isn't the first.
Israel has repeatedly attacked military positions in Syria, saying it aims at destroying weapon convoys for Lebanon's Hezbollah, a Shiite group that fights alongside Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's army.
