To Syria, now, where OPCW inspectors say they still aim to reach the town of Douma to investigate allegations of chemical weapons use. The announcement came despite the air strikes launched without UN authorization by the United States, Britain and France. The three countries said the strikes were limited to what they claimed were chemical weapons capabilities and not aimed at toppling Assad or intervening in the civil war. Damascus and Russia have denounced the action, in particular for refusing to wait for the results of the fact-finding mission.
