China Buzz: Chinese cough syrup gains popularity amid US flu outbreak

Before we go, let's take a look at today's China Buzz segment.
New Yorkers have spotted a new remedy for flu. A Chinese herbal cough syrup, called Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa, has gained much attention and popularity in the US, amid its worst flu outbreak in nearly a decade. Many American consumers are amazed at the product's magical effects in treating sore throat and coughing. However, many Chinese suggest it would be better to use the supplement under a practitioner's guidance.
In Ordos, up in northern China's Inner Mongolia, the winter cold has led to more than the flu. In a daring rescue, villagers punched through a frozen pond to save an 8-year-old boy, who had fallen through the ice. Just minutes after the fall, a nearby villager dove into the icy water, dragged the boy out with the help of a wooden stick, and fortunately saved his life.
And what's also gained tons of likes online is this giant poodle, named Tank. The big dog's owner intended to take out mountain climbing during the Spring Festival holiday. However, unexpectedly, Tank got tired when coming back down, and the unlucky owner had to carry the dog down the mountain all by himself. What a poor guy!
