Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday that this year is the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
"Over the last 15 years, China-ASEAN cooperation has yielded fruitful results. For nine consecutive years, China has been ASEAN's largest trade partner. Last year, the trade volume between the two reached 500 billion US dollars," Wang noted.
Wang made the remarks at a press conference on the sidelines of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress in Beijing while answering questions on China's foreign policy and external relations.
In the future, China will continue to upgrade its strategic partnership with ASEAN and broaden cooperation with the bloc in more projects, Wang added.
