China successfully launched a land exploration satellite into a preset orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert at 15:10 on Saturday.
Launched by a Long March 2-D rocket, the number four satellite will mainly be used for remote sensing exploration of land resources.
The launch was the 268th mission of the Long March rocket series. In 2019, China will launch the Long March-5B carrier rocket into space, laying the groundwork for the construction of China's first space station expected to be completed around 2022.
