A car lost control and fell into a river in Nilka county, around 200km west of Urumqi in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region last Sunday, leaving five people trapped in temperatures of minus 12 degrees Celsius. Rescuers rushed to the scene to save the stricken passengers, pulling the vehicle out of the water after three hours, with all five people successfully rescued.
