National Basketball Association: Celtic's Irving lost for the year after knee surgery

Over to the NBA, where the Boston Celtics will be without All-star Kyrie Irving for the rest of the season, and the playoffs. The former number one overall pick, had a knee procedure last month to have a wire removed to fix a problematic knee -- it turns out, the joint needs more surgery. The 26-year-old will undergo a procedure to remove two screws implanted in his left patella. He is expected to make a full recovery in four-to-five months. Irving has not played since March 11, and was averaging 24.4 points, 5.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds in his first season in Boston.
As for action, Kevin Durant and the Warriors were on the road to face Victor Oladipo and the Indiana Pacers. G-State down five late in the opening quarter, but K-D hits the floater and draws the foul. 27 points and seven assists for the Slim Reaper on the night. Bojan Bogdanovic would be on fire for the hosts, hitting the triple to give the Pacers a six-point in the second. Indiana threatens to pull away in the third. Bogdanovic finds Myles Turner, and the big man nails the jumper over JaVale McGee. It's a 13-point lead for the Pacers.  Late in the period, the hosts leading by 18. After a scramble on the floor, Victor Oladipo picks up the rock and leads the fast break, and gets the finish. Indiana in charge, 21 for Oladipo.  
The Warriors try to fight back in the final quarter but a 17-1 run ends the visitors chance at a comeback -- Bogdanovic nailing another triple as he finishes with a game-high 28 points, 11 of 13 from the field. 126-104 is the final.  
Other games, Denver tops Minnesota, that means the teams are now tied for the final playoff spot in the West. Cleveland picked up a win in coach Ty Lue's return to the bench, edging Washington 119-115. 33 points, nine rebounds and 14 assists for LeBron in the win. Chris Paul hit the winning jumper as Houston edges Portland. Brooklyn tops Milwaukee, and Utah dents the Clippers playoff chances after a 117-95 win.
