At a press conference in Beijing on Saturday, Wan Gang, China's Minister of Science and Technology, said the key to developing AI is to strengthen its foundations. China should consolidate its technological foundations; quicken the development of these technological foundations, key technologies and system integration; focus on international cooperation, intertwine the natural and social sciences; and put the achievements onto open platforms.
