China Poverty Reduction: Achievements showcased at UN Food Agency

An exhibition has been launched to showcase China's poverty alleviation efforts at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome. It provides a platform for other countries to understand and learn China's practices and experiences. The opening ceremony was attended by over 300 representatives from 100 countries and international organizations. The exhibition features pictures of China's achievements ending poverty and hunger, as well as its efforts to help people realize the right to food at national and international levels. It comes as China is moving quickly towards its goal of eradicating poverty by 2020, 10 years ahead of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

If you look at the achievement of millennium development goal number one, that is to reduce by half. The impact form global numbers from China has been huge. So the reduction of poverty in China, reduction of hunger in China for the past twenty years has been a very tremendous story. It is a remarkable achievement."
