Hundreds of people have been ordered to evacuate their homes as several wildfires continue to burn through steep terrain near California's central coast on Saturday.
The blaze is believed to have been caused by searing summer temperatures and parched land, fueling dozens of blazes in the west and southwest US.
Residents from Oroville and Santa Barbara county were evacuated, with at least six people reported injured and 10 buildings destroyed.
Reuters reports that high temperatures are forecast to reach the Plains states by Sunday, including North and South Dakota and Iowa.
